P1 - Concepts

For these first three concepts I tried exploring touch and sight.

Concept one is simply a cube like object that would be covered in various different textures to interact with the touch sense, although after our group discussion I found that this was a very common type of idea, and I decided against using it. 

Concept two is a spinning top that would have have some type of optical illusion on top to connect with the visual sense, however this was also an idea that others had.

Concept three was a puzzle type object where like a kids toy the objective is to put the right puzzle piece in the right place, but to connect with the visual sense, the pieces were the names of colours, but they would be coloured with opposite colours. I decided not to use this as something similar had been used as an example.

After a little more thought I thought of something more original, this interactive object would effect the hearing sense. The idea is a guitar string strung over a board around a corner connected by post like things. the centre part would be adjust able so that the angle and length of the string would change in order to create different sounds when the string is plucked. This is the concept I have decided to go for. It may be difficult to make but I think after some planning I will be able to come up with something. After a brief experiment I discovered that as an interactive object, users would prefer a hand held object. I will take this and develop this for my Storyboard.
