Research - Energy usage in New Zealand

Over the years since the introduction of power and electricity, the usage has dramatically increased along with the increasing population and use of electrical equipment.
Here is a link to view global energy usage scales. http://bit.ly/qMDxrh

New Zealand is a net importer of energy, and that energy is in the form of oil products. However approximately 35% of our primary energy is Renewable.
New Zealand is one of the 13 OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries that do not use Nuclear Power. Approximatly 35% of our primary energy is from renewable resources.

In comparison with the rest of the world our consumption is rather central and in terms of energy intensity, New Zealand is just a little lower than the global average.
